Senior Accountant/Analyst - NE Philly $55-65K
Job Title: Financial Analyst 1
Department: Finance
Reports to: Controller
Collaborate with staff members in the preparation of month end and year-end financial statements. Responsible for the proper accounting of federal and state funds received as nursing school tuition. Insure the accuracy of the tuition receivable recorded and process student refunds. Responsible for maintaining and analyzing all special purpose fund accounts to insure that they are expensed solely for their intended purposes. Assist various personnel and department managers in resolving expense variances. Responsible for compiling case management reports for tracking purposes. Assist independent auditors with interim and year-end audits. Responsible for special projects and analysis as assigned by the director of finance, controller, and/or administration.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with various staff members in the timely and accurate preparation of both the monthly and year-end financial statements.
2. Responsible for the proper accounting of federal and state funds received by the client as tuition for students, working with the financial aid officer of the nursing school to insure the accuracy of the tuition receivable recorded, and processing student refunds.
3. Responsible for maintaining and analyzing all of the hospital’s special purpose fund accounts to insure that these funds are expensed solely for their intended purposes in accordance with generally accepted accounting principals
4. Assist various personnel and department managers in resolving expense variances from budget to actual as recorded on the hospital’s monthly financial statements.
5. Oversee the maintenance of the hospital’s position control system including accessing confidential employee information.
6. Responsible for compiling various case management reports for tracking purposes.
7. Responsible for special projects and analysis as assigned by the director of finance, controller, and/or administration.
8. Assist independent auditors with interim and year-end audits.
9. Responsible for maintaining data and producing and distributing all reports from the Solucient Benchmarking System.
Basic Qualifications
Experience
3 years accounting experience, preferably in a hospital setting

BS/BBA in Accounting
