JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Senior Staff Accountant
DEPARTMENT: Corporate Accounting - Home Services
SUPERVISOR: Accounting Manager
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
This position is responsible for the performance of daily accounting functions within Corporate Accounting. These daily accounting functions include, but are not limited to, recording income and expense activity, reconciling various balance sheet accounts and handling customer inquiries (both internal and external). In addition, this role is responsible for managing the member audit function and processing customer billings.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Major Accountabilities
1. Management of the member audit function.
2. Handle all customer inquiries (both internal and external) pertinent to your area of responsibility. All responses should be timely, courteous and effective.
3. Process customer billings on a monthly basis.
4. Reconcile balance sheet accounts in accordance with company policy.
5. Constantly review existing process flows to identify areas for improvement. Work with your direct supervisor and co-workers to implement workflow enhancements to improve the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the Company’s operations.
6. Assist your direct supervisor in developing, documenting and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience.
CPA designation required.
Excellent problem solving and account reconciliation skills desired.
Candidate should possess strong organizational and motivational skills and working knowledge of PC applications such as MS Office and general ledger packages.
Excellent written/verbal communication skills necessary.
Must possess the ability to work accurately and independently under strict deadlines.

CONDITIONS OF WORK:
Minimal travel is required (1-2 trips required within first year of hire for on-site member audit training).
