Title: Accountant
Salary: $45-50K
Location: CC, Philly
We are currently seeking an Accountant to maintain the general ledger and supporting subsidiary ledgers, in compliance with GAAP and SAP standards. The successful candidate will prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for Client and its family of companies on a monthly basis.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Performing account analyses and ledger to sub-ledger reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements/reports, including quarterly and annual statutory filings to the PA Insurance Department and the NAIC
- Conducting comprehensive trend analyses and other analytical studies that accurately support financial reports provided to senior management
- Participating in and providing support for internal/external audits and other special projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- 3 years experience in general accounting with a particular focus on statutory requirements and regulations
- Knowledge of basic business and accounting procedures
- Healthcare or Insurance industry experience (desirable)
- Ability to effectively communicate with both company and outside personnel
- Must be well organized, flexible, have a high level of initiative, and be able to deal effectively with high volumes of data
- Proficiency in Excel and Access
- Experienced using a computerized accounting system such as PeopleSoft (preferred)
