Position Summary

We are seeking a person who wishes to undertake a challenging yet highly visible and dynamic role within a relatively newly formed and dynamic public company, associated with one of the best known US brand names. Reporting to the CFO, this candidate will be principally responsible for both the controllership as well as investor relations functions.

 

Relationships

Reports to the CFO while working closely with senior management of all operational groups, including the CEO. Will also have direct contact with retail and institutional shareholders, debt holders and research analysts.  

 

Major Responsibilities

Comptrollership Function

  • As the chief accounting officer for Client, the controller will be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of financial controls, procedures and policies to ensure: timely preparation of consolidated financial statements that comply with generally accepted accounting principles, government regulations (including SEC), and accounting control over all company assets, liabilities, revenues and expenses.
  • Responsibility for the preparation and analysis of division and company wide budgets
  • Responsibility for operational and cash flow forecasting, which will be critical to Client.
  • Serving as the primary interface with internal and external auditors, directing the internal and external auditing processes for Client including the issuance of quarterly and annual reports and SEC filings.
  • Providing CLIENT shareholders and investors with timely and accurate financial information to assist them in making informed investment decisions
  • Developing and communicating financial policy for CLIENT and its operating groups
  • Providing senior management with accounting, financial and operational information, including budgets, which is necessary to evaluate and manage the business
  • Providing management with a regular discussion and analysis of the performance of each of the divisions’ operations
  • Key player in the quarterly Audit/Conflicts Committee meetings.
  • Oversight of all Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements, including quarterly and annual updates.

 

Investor Relations

  • Involved in all aspects of financing, including equity, debt and bank financing. 
  • Working with the CFO as liaison to CLIENT shareholders and research analysts.   
  • Preparation and organization of CLIENT company presentations

 

 

Key Selection Criteria

  • Accounting degree; CPA
  • Strong technical accounting and financial analysis and reporting skills and experience
  • Knowledge of SEC accounting and reporting rules and regulations

2. Coordinate major Supply Chain projects across all facilities world-wide, including: capital expenditure budgeting and tracking, annual cost rolls, inventory excess and obsolescence reviews, facility spending budgeting and performance-based plan development and tracking.

 

3. Assist in the development, launch and monitoring of global costing systems, tools, policies and procedures  to be used by Finance and Supply Chain personnel world-wide. 

 

4. Perform Ad-Hoc project assignments as requested by the Senior Leadership Team.

 

5. Work with the external auditors to facilitate the year end audit of the Supply Chain financial statements and measures.

 

6. Participate on Supply Chain Continuous Improvement teams focused on ensuring key goals of company are achieved.
