SEC Reporting Specialist, Princeton Area, $130K + stock

Position Specifics:

Oversee the process for developing and implementing Finance Policies and related procedures and educating/training of local site finance teams. Serve as a subject matter expert in interpreting and applying US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations, including, but not limited to revenue recognition, restructuring activities, hedge accounting, share-based compensation, and other matters.

Prepare initial drafts of financial statements and footnotes, and finance-related sections of external financial reports and filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, update financial information/presentations posted to ’s website and review and comment on financial-related press releases.

Perform initial review of the activities of standard setting bodies (FASB, EITF, and SEC), prepare initial draft of comment letters regarding proposed accounting rules, communicate to senior management the impact of these proposed accounting rules, and assist with the implementation of new accounting rules.

Prepare various financial analyses and present such information to senior and executive management.

This position requires excellent communication skills and regular interaction and coordination with local site finance teams around the world. It also requires strong technical accounting skills and an in-depth knowledge and understanding of current accounting principles and financial reporting disclosure requirements applicable to publicly traded companies. This individual must exercise sound judgment within broadly defined practices and policies by selecting optimum methods, techniques and criteria for obtaining results while insuring schedules and performance requirements are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

·         Assist in the preparation of consolidating disclosure schedules needed for internal and external reporting and disclosures in a timely and accurate manner.

·         Regular interaction and consultation with local site finance teams concerning general ledger, consolidation accounting and reporting matters (to ensure financial statements submitted to Corporate Finance comply with US GAAP requirements and  FRP’s and procedures).

·         Assist Corporate Controller in preparing quarterly balance sheet and P&L reviews for presentation to executive management and external auditors.

·         Review and comment on financial-related press releases.

·         Prepare initial drafts of finance-related sections of external financial reports and filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission and update financial information/presentations posted to ’s website.

·         Manage the development and implementation of  Finance Policies and related procedures, internal controls, and new systems and educate/train local site finance teams.

·         Attend external seminars and other professional education courses and monitor the activities of standard-setting bodies to stay current on the latest financial accounting and reporting developments.

·         Prepare initial draft of comment letters regarding proposed accounting rules, communicate to senior management the impact of proposed accounting rules, and implement new accounting rules.

·         Assist the Corporate Controller with other special analysis as required.

 

Requirements:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

·         Education

o        An undergraduate degree in accounting and a CPA is required.

o        MBA is preferred, but not required

·         Type and Number Years of Experience

o        Minimum of 5 years experience in public accounting working on public company clients, or 7 years of experience in technical accounting and/or financial reporting positions at publicly traded companies.

o        Strong computer and Excel skills are also required.

o        The ability to multi-task in a fast paced accounting environment and performs functions such as the creation and maintenance of complex spreadsheets, account analyses and reconciliation.

o        Must have working knowledge of financial reporting and disclosure requirements applicable to publicly traded companies.

o        Good planning and oral and written communications skills are required.
